Officer Introductions Empty Officer Introductions

Post  Hazard Thu Feb 07, 2013 3:21 am

First, I would like to say hello to my 1st ID family and newcomers. I am excited for D'Day 2013, and know you all are too! To the newcomers, you are about to be involved in one of the best, if not THE BEST, paintball experiences of all time!

A little about me. Guess the important part is already covered, but my Oklahoma D'Day name is Hazard, and I think most would agree I have done more than enough to earn that name. I am a former Corporal in the United States Marine Corps. I served from July of 2007 to July of 2011 in logistics. As of now I am struggling through college to get a B.S. in Computer Engineering at Kansas State University. I have decided I hate calculus with a passion.

As for my paintball experience, I am all woodsball. I attended my first Oklahoma D'Day in 2010 where I became a 2ndLt of 2nd Plt. in Charlie Company. I played in 2011 as the XO Of Charlie Company, both under my predecessor and current 2nd Bt. commander LtCol Hollywood. 2012 was my first year as the Commanding Officer of Charlie Company. 2013 will be my 4th Oklahoma D'Day, and my 4th time running up the hill (Can we officially call it a mountain?) that is Omaha Beach. Outside of D'Day most of my paintball experience comes from playing at the so called river just outside of my hometown with buddies. In fact, in high school, we did it on a weekly basis. I can tell you after my time in Charlie Company paintball has never been the same. There is no game like Oklahoma D'Day. I never get the same rush I get while playing at D'Day.

Now, some of you may know, I have absolutely terrible memory. That being the case, I would like all officers (Shiny gold or silver bars) and NCO's (Sergeants the pins with 3 stripes up) from Charlie Company last year to send me a message with their call sign and position held in 2012.

What's up Charlie CO! Man it feels good to start getting ready for D'Day. Hazard covered the good bits about D'Day. It IS the best paintball experience I've ever had or ever will have and I'm sure it will be the same for new and old members of the 1st ID as well.

I grew up with Hazard in the crappy little place that is our hometown. Trust me, he lives up to his name. Ask him about the time he almost blew his face off AND light the neighborhood on fire that one 4th of July. I'm not sure how much I can post about my job but lets just say I sit at a desk and crunch a lot of numbers. If I recall correctly Hazard and I started playing paintball around 2004ish. We were dreaming of charging up Omaha since before we actually owned paintball guns.

We finally managed to pull of a trip to D'day in 2010 and we've been going back since. We're both seasoned Charlie CO players and somehow they decided to put him in charge and he decided it was a good idea for me to be his XO. I did a decent job last year and I plan on doing a better job this year. If you think I'm could do a better job as XO please tell me. I"m very open to constructive criticism. And taco's. I'm very open to taco's.
